Two Methods Available

There are two methods to activate the SIDRA INTERSECTION software:

  • Online Method
  • Offline Method

We always recommend using the Online Method rather than the Offline Method for ease of use.

Important - Invitation to set up your SIDRA FLOATING Licence Account

Please ensure you have accepted the email invitation to join your SIDRA FLOATING Licence Account and create your SIDRA User Profile. If you have not received the invitation, please contact us.

Online Method

The following steps allow you to activate the SIDRA INTERSECTION using the Online method.

Select FLOATING in the Licence Type Group

  1. If unlicenced, SIDRA INTERSECTION will open to show the Licensing ribbon tab.
  2. On the Licensing ribbon tab, select FLOATING in the Licence Type section
  3. The FLOATING User Profile dialog will open if you have not signed in for the next step.

Sign in to your SIDRA User Profile

Click the Sign In button in the FLOATING User Profile dialog. The embedded browser or your default browser will open to display the SIDRA User Profile Sign In page. The choice of browser is set during installation of SIDRA INTERSECTION.

  1. Sign in with your Email (user name).
  2. Click Next.
  3. Enter Password.
  4. Click Sign in.

After successfully signing in, your Name and Email will be displayed in the User Profile section of the dialog. You will remain signed in until you sign out of your User Profile from this dialog.

Acquire a Seat using the Online method

After you have successfully signed in and closed the FLOATING User Profile dialog, the Acquire Licence Seat dialog will open automatically. You can access this dialog later by clicking the Acquire Seat button in the Licensing ribbon tab.

Select the following settings:

  1. Select Online under Select a Method
  2. Select NETWORK under Model level
  3. Click OK

The program will now attempt to acquire a Licence Seat using your training licence.

If a Licence Seat is acquired successfully, a padlock icon will appear unlocked at the bottom right pane of the main User Interface window.

Important

  • Your Licence Seat will remain active as long as the program is running, and your computer is connected to the internet.
  • If you close the program, the online Licence Seat will be released.
  • If you sign out your User Profile, the online Licence Seat will also be released.
  • If your internet connection drops out, the online Licence Seat will remain active until it expires within 60 minutes. After it expires, another user may acquire this Licence Seat.

Notes

  • If your sign in credentials are incorrect, an error message will appear in the Sign in
  • If no Licence Seat is available, a warning message will appear in a pop-up dialog.
  • You can access the FLOATING User Profile dialog later to sign out of your profile if required, but it is not necessary.

Offline Method

The Offline Licence Seat is downloaded from within the SIDRA INTERSECTION software and will allow you to use the SIDRA INTERSECTION software whilst disconnected to the internet for a limited time. When it is downloaded, the seat is used and will only be released after the designated time has ended.

Download a Seat using the Offline method

After you have successfully signed in and closed the FLOATING User Profile dialog, the Acquire Licence Seat dialog will open automatically. You also can access this dialog later by clicking the Acquire Seat button in the Licensing ribbon tab. In this dialog:

  1. Select Offline under Select a Method
  2. Select NETWORK under Model Level
  3. Select the duration of the offline seat and click the Download button to download an Offline Licence Seat. This will remain valid until the designated time is over.
  4. A pop-up dialog will open with a message stating that closing the software, signing out or changing the Licensing Settings will not release the seat. Click Yes to continue.
  5. If available, SIDRA INTERSECTION will acquire and download a Licence Seat from the server. You will see verification and details of the Offline Licence Seat including the Lease Expiration Time. If required, you can return to this dialog and click the button to renew.
  6. Click OK to close the dialog.

Important

  • An Offline Licence Seat can be downloaded and will work for a limited time only. This is useful, for example, if you are working off site with no internet access.
  • To be able to download an Offline Licence Seat:
    • You must have a valid SIDRA User Profile Account.
    • You must be allowed to access the FLOATING Licence.
    • The FLOATING Licence must have a Licence Seat available.
    • You must be online to download the Licence Seat before you go offline.
  • This offline method is intended for occasional use.

Notes

  • If your sign in credentials are incorrect, an error message will appear in the Sign in
  • If no Licence Seat is available, a warning message will appear in a pop-up dialog.
  • Closing the software, signing out or changing the Licensing Settings will not release your current offline Licence Seat.
